I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education at Charleston Southern University College. I then went on to Lesley University, where I earned my graduate integrating arts into curriculum and instruction degree. I'm also certified to teach reading and education in the state of North Carolina. I love to teach, and I understand that the classroom can often get in the way of optimal learning for some students. Tutoring offers me the opportunity to focus on one student. When I work with students in a one-on-one environment, I can be attentive to their individual needs, strengths, and areas of opportunity. I like to figure out what students know up front, and then I put together resources and lesson plans to help fill the gaps. I'm compassionate for my students, and I want them to succeed in school and in life. I can assist students in reading, literature, elementary school math, elementary school science, grammar, ESL, writing, and related subjects. In my spare time, I enjoy doing crafts, cooking, reading, practicing a healthy lifestyle, keeping up with current affairs, watching movies, and reading.
